'Every Single Time

She's sitting on a chair across the room,
opposite him
watching a young and pretty professional woman
-let's call her miss M-
making a total fool of herself
because of him, her man.

She had met Miss M a few days before,
she seemed quite the professional
with everyone around her,
terse, a bit unsmiling, but efficient.

And yet now,
here she is,
that very same miss M,
making a perfect fool of herself,
talking non stop,
giggling like a little girl,
revealing too much personal stuff about her
in a totally unprofessional manner...

The reason?
Him...
He isn't even trying.
he's just sitting there,
neither talking nor encouraging her
hardly looking at her,
but miss M insists on making a fool of herself before him,
oblivious of the other woman watching her.

When they leave Miss M's office,
she teases him:
''Every single time, damn it.
''You have this effect on them all,
every single time.
''What the hell are they seeing in you?
''Don't know what kind of magic you practice on them,
but it seems to be working like a charm...''

He laughs,wholeheartedly.
''Must be that energy thing
you're raving about all the time, right?'' he teases back.

Right...
